The homegrown automaker Maruti Suzuki has crossed the 3 Lac sales mark of its BS6 compliant cars in just 7 months.

India’s biggest automaker Maruti Suzuki reported sales of over 3 Lacs units of BSVI compliant cars. The milestone came in span of just 7 months when the first BSVI compliant car was launched by the company.

In the month of October alone the company was successful in selling more than 1 Lacs BSVI cars owning to the strong festive season. The executive director of the Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, Shashank Srivastava said "We are delighted to announce that Maruti Suzuki crossed the milestone sales figure of 3 lakh BS6 vehicles in a short span of 7 months. Of this, close to one lakh vehicles were sold during the month of October owing to the festive demand. These figures are very encouraging and reflect on Maruti Suzuki cars being preferred choice of people and indicate towards trust placed in our products. With the largest range of BS6 vehicles on offer, Maruti Suzuki cars have garnered widespread acceptance."

In the month of April 2019, Maruti Suzuki launched its BSVI compliant cars in India.

One of the first two models that received the BSVI compliant engines was the Baleno and Alto which are also the company’s bestselling cars.

The company launched BSVI cars almost a year before the new emission norms set to take place from April 2020.

At the moment, the company is offering BSVI compliant car models that include Alto 800, WagonR, S-Presso, Swift, Dzire, Baleno, Ertiga and the XL6 as well. The company says that its new BSVI compliant cars will help in reduction of 25% in the emission of Nitrogen Oxide (NOx).

Also, the BSVI cars are also capable of running on BS4 petrol as well.
